ABOUT US
We are a club devoted to making keys. Not. Actually, Key Club is the oldest and largest international student-led high school organization, which provides its members with opportunities to provide service, build character and develop leadership. We are a high school branch of the humanitarian organization Kiwanis International, which is why KEY stands for Kiwanis Educated Youth. The core values of Key Club International are leadership, character building, caring and inclusiveness.
We are a part of Division 12 East meaning we have a lot of events with American, Independence, James Logan, KIPP, Mission San Jose, Piedmont Hills, San Jose High, and Washington. Additionally we are part of Region 17 and the California-Nevada-Hawaii District, which has around 50,000 members and is the largest district there is with over 500 clubs. Key Club has approximately 260,000 members in approximately 5,000 clubs in 31 countries!
But Key Club isn’t just about service. Key Club is also about spirit. We have huge over-the-top spirit rallies. What else can you expect when 50,000 of the most outgoing determined spirited high schoolers get together? Key Club is about changing lives while having the time of our lives.
We provide our members with opportunities to display service, build character, and develop leadership. We serve the community in many ways, including these: a Can Food Drive in November, Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF in October, Christmas Caroling in December, Ducks for Bucks in April, Relay For Life in June, and other activities that are fun and build leadership!
Enjoy the rest of this school year at Irvington, and we hope to see you and your friends at our meetings every other Wednesday at lunch in Norse Hall (unless otherwise stated).
All are welcome to join!
